A redesigned onboarding and signup experience focused on guiding new users from account creation to first release.

Who it's for

New artists and labels who haven't yet published via CD Baby.

Problems it solves

  • Old signup flows produced accounts that never completed a release
  • Messaging and UI didn't clearly show what to do next after signup
  • Marketing acquisition wasn't tightly connected to product activation

Key use cases

  • A focused signup page that clearly explains value and reduces friction
  • A post-signup flow that directly prompts users to start their first release
  • Progress indicators showing steps left to publish (upload tracks, metadata, payment)
  • More users reach "first successful release," improving retention
